A 33-year-old man is in the grips of police after he was arrested for using black magic aka juju to sleep with a lady.
Ibrahim Orona, a resident of No. 35, Ago-oka, Idi-Oparun neighbourhood in Abeokuta, Nigeria, has been charged with engaging in conduct that is likely to lead to a breach of peace.
On Friday, July 15, he appeared before a magistrate’s court in Abeokuta.
The source reported that ASP Olakunle Shonibare, who represents the prosecution, informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on June 26 in the Abeokuta neighbourhood of Ago-Ika.
He revealed that Temilade Olabanji, Orona’s girlfriend of 23 years, and he had engaged in sexual activity before Orona administered a material (charm) to his private areas.
After having sex with the suspect, the victim allegedly started barking like a dog before losing consciousness.
Olabanji was hurried to a herbalist, who revived her, before being sent to the Ogun State General Hospital for appropriate medical care, according to Shonibare, who testified in the courtroom presided over by Mrs. O.M. Somefun.
The prosecutor asserted that Orona’s actions violated Section 210(c) of the Ogun 2006 Criminal Law.
After hearing the specifics of the case, the court granted the defendant bail in the amount of N500,000 with two sureties in the same amount.
One of the sureties must be a relative of the defendant, and the sureties must show proof of three tax payments to the Ogun government.
