A video has surfaced on social media that see some men sleeping in muddy water after they were allegedly caught engaging in Galamsey by some soldiers.
In the viral video, the group of young men were compelled to lie in filthy water while the military who arrested them were standing next to them heavily armed.
Unknown as to what the operation entails or who authorized it, Anglogold Ashanti’s site was the location on Friday, July 15, 2022, according to reports.
Over 30 miners were reportedly caught by armed security services while allegedly digging in the company’s pits despite being warned not to do so.

While waiting to transport the suspects to the closest police station, the uniformed military men were heard making some nasty remarks about them while they were laid out in the dirt.

However, there are concerns about possible violations of human rights because foreigners who are detained do not receive the same treatment.
