NDC staged the Suame protest to disgrace Kyei Mensah and gov’t – Wontumi

Chairman Wountumi has accused the opposition party NDC of being the mastermind behind the Suame protest.

According to him, the NDC staged the Suame protest purposely to disgrace the MP for the area, Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and the NPP government.

Speaking on the back of the protest where the MP was chased and stoned, Mr Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wountumi said the constituents did not have any intention to stage a protest.

Thus, everything that happened at Suame was the doing of the NDC.

Work on Suame Roads begins hours after the MP was chased and stoned

The residents of Suame have expressed wanton anger over the degree of underdevelopment in the area by attacking the MP for the constituency.

MP Osei-Yei Mensah-Bonsu was chased and pelted with stones when he visited the area on Monday to calm the demonstrating mob down.

Residents were demonstrating over lack of development in the area even after the MP had been in parliament for over 22 years.

They had complained about the poor nature of roads in the Suame constituency and were calling on the MP to get it fixed.

A different story might have been told on Monday, July 18, if not for the timely intervention of the Majority Leader of Ghana’s Eighth Parliament’s bodyguard.

Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was whisked away from the snare of angry Suame magazine artisans by the police officer.

Work have already began on roads in the Suame constituency just a day after the MP was chased and stoned.

According to available video, contractors have been deleted to the site where they are already laying asphalt on major roads in the constituency.
