Price of pure water increased to 40 pesewas

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has advised all of its members to raise their product prices.

According to a press release signed by the Association’s National President, Magnus Nunoo, sachet water will be sold for 40pesewas, while 500ml bottled water, which was previously sold for GHC1.00, will now be sold for GHC1.50.

The new prices will be implemented on Monday, December 27, 2021.

“It is suggested that the 500ml bottled water be sold for GHC1.50 and the 750ml or medium size bottled water be sold for GHC2.00.” The 1.5L or large bottled water will be sold for GHS3.50,” according to parts of the statement.

According to the Association, “iced sachet water will be retailed at 40peswas.” A bag of sachet water, 500ml by 30pcs, will now be sold from retail trucks for GHC4.50. Mini-markets will now sell a bag of sachets for a minimum of GHC6 per bag.”

They explained that the price increase was necessitated by rising input costs such as fuel, vehicle spare parts, and packaging materials, all of which are primarily imported.
