There is always an inspiration behind every musician’s song. Some might be an experience in one’s life or an imaginable situation.
We all jammed to Samini’s hit song ‘Gyae Hye’ when it was released but I can guess it really helped motivated ‘wee’ smokers and those who take in alcohol in one way or the other.
It was a choice between what to choose over ‘wee’ or ‘akpeteshie’ and not to indulge in the two.

Dancehall artist Samini has for a long time now disclosed why he composed his all-time banger ‘Gyae Shi’
According to him, he composed the song from his own experience when he blended ‘wee’ with local blended Akpeteshi.
“I composed the song when I was very young after I blended ‘wee’ with Akpeteshie one hot afternoon and realised that Akpeteshie was better than ‘wee’,” he said.

With his experience, he believes Akpeteshi will do more good than ‘wee’, but however, confessed that he was very young at that time and he remembers that it was one afternoon he blended the two and that was his experience.
