Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP Chairman Wontumi has turned down the chance to comment on the apology for the management of UTV.
Management of UTV yesterday released an apology to Chairman Wontumi for denigrating him on their show United Showbiz when Afia Schwarzenegger appeared as a guest last weekend.
That didn’t end there as, during their evening news, the station once again apologized to the businessman for their actions.
Shortly after that, a lawsuit from Chairman Wontumi suing the station and other individuals including the host Nana Ama McBrown for contempt surfaced on social media.

Chairman Wontumi in an interview with Paul Adom Otchere yesterday was asked to comment on the case but he only answered that he was not going to say anything about the case since it’s in court.
According to him, he is not ready to be charged with contempt of the court and as such he doesn’t want to comment on the matter.
“Paul I don’t want to talk about it because the thing is in court and you are a student of law so you don’t need to talk about it,” he said.
The Host of Good Evening Ghana then pushed forward that he wanted to play the apology for him to watch but he replied by saying the host can play but that doesn’t mean he has seen it.
“you can show but it doesn’t mean I can see. If you are showing it means you are showing. Paul I’m saying the things that are in court I don’t talk about it,” he said.
