‘Vaccination must be by choice not by force’ – Sammy Gyamfi

The Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi has hit back at the Ghana Health Service (GHS) for its decision to make vaccination compulsory for all travellers leaving and visiting the country.

He took to Facebook to register his displeasure. Sammy wrote, “Vaccination must be by choice and not by force”, a part of his post reads.

He added that his position is entirely his and not that of any entity that he is a member of or represents.

READ HIS FULL POST BELOW:

Vaccination must be by choice and not by force. The imposition of compulsory COVID vaccination requirement on all Ghanaians travelling into and out of Ghana by the Ghana Health Service is reprehensible and an affront to the 1992 Constitution. And some of us are determined to fight this madness through every available legal means no matter the cost or stigma.

NB: Kindly note, that this view is entirely mine and not that of any entity that I am a member of or speak for.

On Thursday, December 9, the GHS made some modifications to its protocols regarding foreign travel through the Kotoka International Airport.

The Service noted that in the wake of Omicron, all persons 18 years and above arriving in Ghana from December 12 must provide proof of full vaccination.
