If you’ve been on TikTok comments section recently, you may find yourself asking “who is this random white guy?” and why does he wants to know which country this is.
The spam comment trend stems from a creepy pasta about a man searching for his missing daughter.
It seem to have originated on January 19th, 2024, when Filipino comedian, Fonz known on TikTok as @ribsp recorded a fanfic video about a white man named Peter Sutherland from Wyoming who in 2020 was searching for his daughter Sandra after she went on a month long vacation to South East Asia.
As the man was unable to get on the plane, he tried looking for clues about her whereabouts on social media commenting on peoples contents “Which country is this” true to pinpoint her location.
The creepy twist is Peter died in on 2023 but his ‘What country is this’ comment appearing on videos suggesting that he’s still looking or her even in death.
Fonz video amassed more than 3.5 million views in under a week and soon after, comments on peoples Tiktok video using the ‘Peter Sutherland’ selfie reading ‘what or which country is this’ gained viral spread online particularly on videos from creators in South East Asia and Africa.
