Cody Sargent: The Man Who Donated His Organs After Losing His Battle With Brain Tumor

United States Air Force engineer Cody Sargent tragically passed away on Wednesday, November 1. The Loveland, Colorado native died after suffering from a brain tumor. His wife has since revealed that he was also an organ donor.

Cody Sargent was married to Frances Sargent, his high school sweetheart, and they had a son named Oliver. He was a devoted and affectionate spouse, and a proud and supportive father. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and hiking.

He was known for his outgoing and warm personality, his witty and charismatic charm, and his gentle and caring nature. He was a person who truly embodied love and kindness in every aspect of his life.

What happened to Cody Sargent?

On Nov. 7, 2023, Kristin Clark took to Facebook and revealed that Cody and his wife, Frances Sargent, visited the emergency room on Halloween. He’d been dealing with headaches for five weeks, so the doctor ordered a STAT CT scan. It was performed immediately, and the results showed that Cody had a brain tumor.

On Nov. 1, 2023, at 4:00 a.m., Cody was taken in for another emergency procedure due to the amount of swelling and cranial pressure.

According to Kristin, the neurosurgeon didn’t think the engineer would have “cognitive function and reflexes” after the second surgery. As a result, the neurosurgeons decided to reduce Cody’s sedation.

At 1:30 p.m., they performed their final checks and determined Cody was brain dead. He was given a time of death and kept on life support, as he was an organ donor.

On November 1, 2023, Cody Sargent was declared brain dead, and his organs were harvested for transplantation.

His family and friends gathered around him to say their final goodbye, and to honor his generous and heroic act.

They accompanied him on his “honor walk”, a procession that escorted him from his hospital room to the operating room, where he gave the gift of life to seven strangers.

His honor walk was captured on video and shared on TikTok, where it went viral and touched the hearts of millions of people.

Cody’s honor walk — which has since gone viral on TikTok — took place on Nov. 3, 2023, and “was celebrated with his wife, son, family, friends, the amazing nurses and doctors that cared for him, and the hospital staff.”

He was transported to Denver, and at 1:59 a.m. on Nov. 5, 2023, Cody went in for his final surgery. It took over seven hours because he was able to donate his heart, lungs, liver, and both of his kidneys.

Cody Sargent was a remarkable man who lived a full and meaningful life. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and humor.

He was also a passionate IT technician, a successful business owner, and a talented musician. He had a bright future ahead of him, until he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer that took his life in a matter of days.

In his final act of selflessness, he donated almost all of his major organs to save the lives of others. He was a hero who left a lasting impression on the world. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
