It’s me, I wasn’t impersonated – Sarah Adwoa Safo denies claims of hiring someone to represent her in parliament

Sarah Adwoa Safo, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has denied claims that she was not present in Parliament on Tuesday, November 30, 2022, for the approval of the 2022 budget.

Videos and photos claimed that she was out of the country and might have sent someone to impersonate her.

The allegation was corroborated by the Minority side who intimated that the woman who entered the house to add to the numbers of the Majority Caucus in order for the 2022 budget statement to be approved was an impersonator; she was not the real Adwao Safo.

However, on Wednesday, December 1, Adwoa Safo, speaking on the floor of parliament refuted the claims and maintained that she was in parliament the day before.

“As a former deputy Majority Leader of this House, I want to state unequivocally that I was present in this House yesterday (Tuesday),” he said.

This was after the North Tongu MP, Sam Okudzeto had raised suspicion over the fact that the woman who came into the house the day before in the capacity of Adwoa Safo was an impersonator.

“Following the pictures and videos we are reviewing this morning, it is becoming clear to us that the lady who was presented as Adwoa Safo may have been the victim of impersonation.” It’s starting to look like she’s notAdwoa Safo.”

Meanwhile, it was a scene when some MPs belonging to the Majority and Minority Caucuses decided to square off in parliament after they failed to find a resolution to the approval of the 2022 budget and matters arising. Read More HERE.
