A 32-year-old woman, Madam Rosina has been arrested by the Kwabenya Police in the Greater Accra Region for allegedly beating his son to death for losing her GHS120 she sent him with.
Andrew Sam, the 11-year-old class four pupil of C&J Montessori at Kotobabi in Accra was sent by his mother, Rosina a trader to purchase recharge cards worth GHS 120
According to the police, Andrew Sam returned after a couple of hours and revealed to the mother he has lost the money he was sent with.

The mother angrily dragged the son to her room, locked the door and punished him mercilessly. She later left him on the floor and went to her shop to continue her business.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Effia Tenge further revealed that Andrew Sam called her mother to complain of cold and that he needed help but the mother told him to shut up.

The boy who is the eldest of Madam Rosina’s children called the mother again when the cold was getting too severe but the mother simply told him to use a cloth to cover himself and sleep.
ASP Effia Tenge revealed that the mother returned home at 9:30 PM only to find his son on the floor not speaking. She shouted for help which drew the attention of the neighbors to the house.

Some of the neighbors alerted the police. When the police stormed the house at 11:30 PM but the boy’s father, Mr. Amos Sam had taken the body to the La Hospital mortuary. The police, however, transferred the body to the Police Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the mother, Madam Rosina has been arrested to assist the police in the investigation. In her statement, she claims to have beat the son with her hands but the neighbors insist she lied and that she used some object in beating the son.
