The management of the Nyankpala Campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) has reacted to the viral alleged story that the SRC leaders of the University organized a S£X Party at the school to welcome the first year students to the school.
According to the Dean of Students Dr. Adu Gyamfi, nothing of that sort happened at the school. He explained that it was just an event organized by the Students Representative Council (SRC) to welcome first-year students to the school.

According to Dr. Adu Gyamfi, the photos circulating online are just photos taken during the event when the DJ of the event played Patapaa’s “One Corner”.
“You know how some people, especially the youth react to the “One Corner” song and it was in such frenzy that, those pictures which went viral were captured and cannot be said as a sex party,” he said.

Dr. Adu Gyamfi, therefore, described the reports as “fabricated and an attempt to tarnish the hard earned reputation of the University”.
Addressing the viral news, the President of the SRC, Sadick Kilwa confirmed the event was held on Friday, 28th September 2018 to welcome the first year students but it was never a S£X Party as being reported.

Sadick Kilwa explained the event was dubbed “Jersey on Jeans (JOJ)” where students wore their favorite football club Jerseys over jeans
He added that photos were shared on social media with misrepresentative captions that suggested a sex party had taken place.
