Ghanaian actress and socialite Rosemond Alade Brown, well known as Akuapem Poloo, is in high spirits after gaining her freedom from spending 90-days in jail.
GHPage received news on Friday, December 17, that Akuapem Poloo had paid the GH¢12,000 fine which was imposed on her by the Court of Appeal in Accra after overturning her custodial sentence.
Taking to social media to express her joy, Poloo sent gratitude to all and sundry who offered their support throughout her run-in with the law.
“Thank you all God richly bless each and everyone of you, your girl is out,” a caption of a photo of Poloo and her said read.
The mother-of-one was sentenced to jail for 90 days by an Accra Circuit Court on April 16 after she was convicted on her own plea on charges of posting a nude picture of herself and her son on social media.
She, however, filed an appeal seeking to overturn the ruling, but the application was dismissed by the Accra High Court on December 1, 2021.
Akuapem Poloo subsequently filed a fresh appeal on December 6, 2021, with the Court of Appeal seeking a non-custodial sentence instead of a custodial sentence.
At a ruling on December 15, 2021, her custodial sentence was set aside and a fine of GHS12,000 was rather imposed on her.
She paid the fine on Friday, December 17, guaranteeing her freedom from prison as a receipt that confirmed the payment of the GH¢12,000 surfaced online.
