A few months back, Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene who was accused of stealing his hit single “Confusion” from a Malian musician called Sidiki Diabate and some lines of Adina’s “Killing me softly” a track originally done by Nigerian star Duncan Mighty which he wrote for her has been accused once again by Veteran musician Adane Best.
According to Adane Best in an interview disclosed that the Lynx Entertainment reproduced some of his lyrics and melodies in his songs but failed to give him the needed acknowledgement.
“Kuami Eugene is good, I like him, but if you listen to his songs, you will hear my mama mama mama mama “Eeeyyyyyeeeyy”. That he took from me, he should acknowledge he copied that from me, he should come out clear and make it known he copied that from me.” He said.
Although Adane Best failed to reveal the exact song from which the ‘Angela’ hitmaker cloned the lyrics from many have linked it to his ‘Mama Mia’ song.
Kuami has been known for using “Eeeyyyyyeeeyy” preluding, and in-between his songs but never have we traced it back to Adane till he spoke about it. If you listen to his “Wish me Well” you will hear some similarity with the melody of Adane Best.
Adane Best is a veteran Ghanaian musician known for hit songs like “Ayitey”, Se Wu Bre, “Wa nu Pe Asem”, Rabbi, Maafio, Soja Go Soja Come, Ayekoo, and Mamamia.
For his achievements, Adane Best won the Best Dance Music ECRAG Awards in 1994. He also received the Best Highlife Song of the Year Award in 2003 and was recently honoured by the Kwahuman Traditional Council in conjunction with the Kwahu Youngsters Club.
