The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has extended the ban on social gatherings for another two weeks.
President Akufo-Addo was speaking at the 8th Nation address to Ghanaians on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president explained that social distancing is a major key in the fight against Coronavirus.
In that regard, social gatherings such as schools, churches, Mosque attendance, funeral services, parties, wedding and, etc have all been suspended.
The president again beseeched Moslems in Ghana to pray from their individual’s homes this Ramadan.

The next extension takes effect from 1:00 am on Monday 27th April 2020, the president said in his address.
