COVID-19 Lockdown: Angry residents assault two police officers

The two officers by reports are currently on admission at the hospital receiving treatment on their injuries.

In a new report available to us in the atmosphere of the COVID-19 lockdown, residents of Likpe Nkwanta near Hohoe in the Oti Region have massively assaulted two Police officers who were on a COVID-19 operation in the area.

The two officers by reports are currently on admission at the hospital receiving treatment on their injuries.

One is said to have suffered a machete wound while the other has been left with a gunshot wound as a result of the actions of the ravaging residents.

The the Hohoe Police Divisional Command received a distress call from Likpe Bala station indicating that two officers have been attacked by the residents in which some of inflicted multiple Cutlass on the chief inspector.

A reinforcement was therefore called but upon arrival of the reinforcement from Hohoe Division the members of the group became more furious and started pelting stone at the rescuing team from Hohoe.

The reinforcement team managed to arrest one Raphael Sabo who was part of the angry mob and he is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
