Davido, a popular Nigerian singer, and his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, were overcome with emotion as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) took an early lead in the Osun gubernatorial election.
As the collation of results progressed, with over 87% of the results uploaded, the PDP candidate, Adeleke, was leading, beating his closest rival, Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A viral video captured the emotional moment singer Davido and his uncle burst into tears as they celebrated their early victory.
“We did it this time,” an excited Adeleke said, to which Davido responded “yes.”
Davido has also hit the street with boys to celebrate his uncle Ademola Adeleke’s victory.
In a series of tweets, Davido has celebrated the victory.
