Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong who had been outside the country for some weeks now arrived in Parliament on Friday to partake in the crucial vote on the 2022 budget.

It is not yet known when the lawmaker touched down in the country after his absence raised suspicions about his health condition.

Earlier, it was reported that the outspoken and controversial politician was battling a stroke. This was alleged by Kevin Taylor – a sympathiser of the opposition NDC – who has engaged in a series war of words with Mr. Agyapong on political grounds.

The maverick politician proved naysayers wrong by sharing photos and videos to prove the rumours were false.

Meanwhile, the government’s 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy read in the House by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, last week has been rejected by Parliament.

The budget received a “NO” voice vote solely by Minority MPs in Parliament on Friday, November 26, 2021, after members on the Majority side staged a walkout following a disagreement over a voice vote which did not go in their favour.

The Majority MPs demanded that General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia who was seated in the public gallery leaves Parliament before they continue with the business of the House.

Mr Asiedu Nketia ignored their request which infuriated the Majority MPs who walked out of the Chamber, leaving only members on the Minority side.

The Speaker of Parliament thus suspended the sitting for five minutes after which the business of the day proceeded.
