Man, 20, arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, a level 300 University student, for ritual purposes

A 20-year-old man has been arrested under the suspicion that he murdered his level 300 University, girlfriend, for ritual purposes.

The incident which happened in Nigeria has sent shivers down the spines of all who could not understand why Oko will kill Jennifer Anthony.

According to reports, Jennifer Anthony of the University of Jos was declared missing a few days before the end of the year. Her lifeless body was later discovered in a hotel in Jos on New Year’s Day where parts of her body including her eyes were missing.

On Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, announced the arrest of the suspected killer of the undergraduate at the Command headquarters in Jos.

Onyeka stated that Oko was apprehended in Benue State with the assistance of his father, Joseph Oko, a lecturer at the University of Jos.

“Sequel to the gruesome murder of Miss Jennifer Anthony, a 300 level student of the University of Jos, whose lifeless body was discovered mutilated on 01/01/2022 at Domus Pacis Guest House, Jos by a man named Moses Oko, aged 20 years, suspected to be her boyfriend who fled after committing the crime,” he said.

“In order to apprehend the perpetrator, the Command launched an aggressive manhunt on the suspect and tactically trailed him to Benue State, where he was apprehended by hawked-eye police operatives of the Command.” As soon as the investigation is completed, the suspect will be arraigned in court.”

In addition, the Commissioner paraded over thirty other suspects for various offences such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms, among others.
He urged the public to work with the police to combat all forms of crime by providing them with timely and useful information.

“We, for one, are ready to respond in a reasonable amount of time whenever we receive a distress call.”

As a result, I urge members of the public to report suspicious movements and people to the police and other law enforcement agencies in order to help nip crime in the bud,” the commissioner added.
