According to the reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, Rockstar-Kuami Eugene he still has massive and solid love for rapper Guru even though the latter has issues with him winning the much-coveted award.
A day after Kuami Eugene was crowned as the Artiste of the Year 2020, Guru went on social media to share his opinion on the VGMA awards system.
According to Guru’s standpoint, Kuami Eugene did not merit the Artiste of the Year Award VGMA bestowed on him over Sarkodie who was positioned as the fans favourite to win the category.

In reaction to these comments by Guru, Kuami Eugene said he takes no offence to comments Guru made about him or in relation to his win at the just ended VGMA’s because he thinks everyone has the right to speak their minds, Guru is no exception.
Speaking on TV Africa with host Roselyn Felli on September 1st 2020, Kuami Eugene expressed his love for Guru regardless of the comments/tweet he made at him.
The Rockstar revealed that during the early stages of his career he looked up to Guru. He used to watch him perform on big platforms and till date that memory of him is still in mind.
The host asked, “If Guru reaches out to you for collaboration on a song, would you work with him?“, Kuami Eugene replied, “Yes, I would love to work with him, I still got mad love for him tho”
