President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Peter Abum Sarkodie as the Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The Environmental Protection Agency is the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in Ghana.
Mr Sarkodie is a senior lecturer at the University of Education and also the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Asante-Mampong from 2005 to 2009.
When he was in Parliament, he was also a member of the Parliamentary Select Committee for science and environment.
Peter Abum Sakodie obtained his First Degree in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast and Masters’ Degree in Organic Chemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

President Akufo Addo also appointed the president of the national house of chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV as the board chairman of the National Investment Bank (NIB) on Thursday.
