Private legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw has called on the security services to punish the General Overseer of Anointed Palace Chapel, Rev Obofour over his recent indiscipline in the church.
According to Maurice Ampaw, there are several pastors who are engaging in criminal activities and must be brought to book.
The legal practitioner further stated that Rev Obofour has become arrogant and is deviating from the calling of God.
According to him, Rev Obofour must be severely punished for allowing someone to smoke ‘wee’ in the church to serve as a deterrent to others.
He also added that he is highly disappointed in the Police Service in delaying to arrest the man of God.
“Rev. Obofour, what he did I’m extremely disappointed in the Police because you shouldn’t have started a campaign before they arrest him. Most Pastors of today are engaging in criminal acts with impunity. The things they do in their churches are insulting, that provokes people, disturbing public peace, offensive conducts. All these are captured on social media which deprecate the minds of Children.
Rev.Obofour is becoming swollen-headed; he is deviating from his calling because that arrogance to the extent of saying overtaking is allowed, Smoke the wee no one can do you anything,…how dare him? he should be punished severely to let other pastors know that they are not above the law”, Maurice Ampaw indicated.
This comes after Rev Obofour ordered a man to smoke marijuana in the church where he claimed he delivered him from ‘weed-smoking spirit’.
This act by the controversial man of God received massive backlash from Ghanaians and was later invited by the police for interrogation.
However, Rev Obofour explained that he was instructed by the Holy Spirit to make the man smoke ‘wee’ in church.
