Karen is a University of Ghana, Legon student who became popular after a video of her beating her boyfriend, Papa Kofi Owusu Kwarteng also a student of the University of Ghana.
According to sources, Papa Kofi was romantically involved with Karen and several other females. Karen found out about his numerous affairs and decided to confront him about it.
According to Karen, upon confrontation, Papa Kofi didn’t seem remorseful hence triggering her to pick up a nearby slipper and begin striking him.
Many people have criticised her actions calling her a violent and abusive female, others are lauding her for actions. On social media, she is being referred to as Legon Yaa Asantewaa, Karen Thor, Karen Arya, Obaa King Kong, Obaa Panther amongst others.
