Mr. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, took all of us by surprise when he announced at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards that he has signed music duo R2Bees, Efya and Mr. Eazi unto his Starboy Worldwide Record Label.
The announcement which most entertainment enthusiast couldn’t fathom why music legends in their way like R2Bees, Efya and then upcoming Mr.Eazi could be snapped by not any other but by their own colleague, Wizkid.
Well, a further explanation has been thrown into all that happened on the night Wizkid made the announcement.And according to the “skintight” hitmaker, Mr Eazi in a conversation with Giovani on Starr FM stated, he was not signed to the record label.
Mr Eazi (Left)- Wikid ( Right )Rather, a collective organization to push the African music agenda worldwide, Mr. Eazi said. He further stated that all the artiste wizkid mentioned on the night are not necessarily signed onto the record label but are rather partners with the same motive.

The Alumnus of KNUST disclosed that he was surprised to hear after the awards that Wizkid has signed him on Starboy Worldwide.

“The night after the award I heard those comments and I was just like this is just silly. We all came together and said let’s come up with a platform, Starboy Worldwide and our aim is to take the music to the world. Starboy Worldwide is a collective organization specifically to push African music worldwide” he told Giovanni of Starr Drive.
