Reports reaching us indicate that a section of the popular Kumasi City Mall roof has caved in this morning, Tuesday 11th December 2018. No casualties were recorded as it happened in the early hours of Tuesdat]y when there was no one inside.
It is unclear what might have caused the roofing to collapse as it was commissioned by President Akufo-Addo on April 20, 2017.

The $95 million project which covers 15.4 acres of land has 74 different shops, providing goods and/or services in groceries, electronics, entertainment, fashion, lifestyle and more.
Meanwhile, the management and authorities of the facility say the place will be cleaned up soon. Stay put for more updates.

Just two months ago, a similar thing happened at the Accra Mall. It’s surprising that this is happening at a mall that cost about $95 million to build.
In Accra Mall’s incident, people were trapped but were rescued and rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment whiles police and personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service secured the premises to prevent further injuries.
