Brother of 20-year-old man who drowned during baptism breaks silence

Evans Alex Ernest, the senior brother of the man who drowned during baptism in Weija River in Accra has broken the silence.

The video of a 20-year-old man named Yaw Kyeremeh losing his life while been baptised in the Weija river in Accra popped up on social media yesterday and it has shocked many as a custom which was supposed to give him a new spiritual life rather took his mortal being.

Speaking in a phone-in interview on UTV News this morning, Alex Ernest who was full of sorrow confirmed that the unfortunate incident saying that his 20-year-old brother, Yaw Kyeremeh, has indeed passed away after drowning while being baptised.

Confirming the sad news, he narrated that he got a call while in the church that his brother, Yaw has passed on which he mad a phone call to Yaw’s number but was picked some of his(Yaw) church members confirming the news to him.

According to him, he only believed after seeing the remains of his younger brother which was deposited at the Police Hospital after the sad event took place this past Sunday around 3 PM.

Evans, however, refused to mention the name of the Pastor and the Church…for personal reasons.
