Valentine’s Day, celebrated annually every 14 February, is recognised as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world.
In Ghana, the day has been set aside as a National Chocolate Day where the government encourages the citizenry to buy made in Ghana chocolate for their loved ones.

Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia took this opportunity to show his romantic side when he surprised his wife, Samira Bawumia, with a bouquet of red roses.
The bouquet of red roses was delivered to the Second Lady by some delegates.
Mrs Samira Bawumia could not hide her excitement as she accepted the gift with smiles and shyness.
