At a gas station in Accra, a day after Vice President Bawumia had touted the Ghana Card over all developments, a man insisted he pays for his fuel with the card.

Drama ensued between the man and the attendant after he brought out his Ghana Card and insisted that it was used to pay for the fuel he had bought.

The man drew motivation for his unusual action from what Vice President Bawumia had said over the week stating that he would choose Ghana Card over 1,000 interchanges.

Although Ghanaians are going through severe economic hardship, Vice President Bawumia intimated that the Ghana Card was imperative to Ghana’s development.

“We have to million Ghanaians with unique identities antoday, whichs a major transformation. A lot of people do not appreciate what the impact of the Ghana Card is. But if you gave me 1,000 interchanges, I will choose the Ghana Card because it has more impact on development,” Bawumia said.

Could a Ghana Card solve all the problems Ghanaians are faced with?

Well, the driver in the video believes if Vice President Bawumia’s words are anything to go by then Ghanaians shall use the Ghana Card to solve all their problems including paying for goods and services.

“Ghana Card has more impact than 1,000 interchanges” – VEEP Bawumia

Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia has touted the impact of the Ghana Card by rating it over 1,000 interchanges.

According to him, the rollout of the Ghana Card has brought substantial development to Ghana which could not be quantified.

Speaking on the back of the government’s decision to go to the IMF, Mr Bawumia said in terms of development and relevance, the Ghana Card has played a more critical role than physical infrastructure.

“We have 16 million Ghanaians with unique identities today, which is a major transformation. A lot of people do not appreciate what the impact of the Ghana Card is. But if you gave me 1,000 interchanges, I will choose the Ghana Card because it has more impact on development,” Bawumia said.
