The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East constituency and Minister for Special Development Initiatives, Mavis Hawa Koomson has reportedly been conveyed in by the Central Region police for questioning regarding gunshot incidents.
This perhaps comes after the public outrage following the Minister admitting on a live radio interview that she fired warning shots at a polling center in her constituency to protect the sanity of the voter’s registration process in her area.
She later revealed that she pulled the trigger because she felt threatened at the registration center.
Therefore, after intense rebuke from a section of the populace, initiated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Central Regional Police Command has invited the Minister for interrogation.
Per reports, the Minister is in the custody of the Central Regional Police Command and is currently being interrogated.
