Kumawood stars who have ‘quit’ acting and doing ‘menial jobs’ in abroad, some in Ghana to survive

Veteran actress Barbara Newton has worked with several famous actors and actresses that Ghana has ever seen including the great Santo and Judas. After starring in several Kumawood movies, Barbara moved to the UK.

We understand Barbara Newton has some movies to her credit even in the UK but she does blue-collar labor to take care of herself and her family.

In Ghana, most of the Kumawood actors and actresses are currently out of job due to how slow the industry has become primary as Bill Asamoah, their president puts it; “We were ignorant of changing technology and refused to adapt to the changes.”

Nana Ama Mcbrown

Nana Ama Mcbrown is now known for her “Mcbrown’s Kitchen” than her movie career which seems to have been suspended for now. But she is still the most talented female in Kumawood and remains unbeaten irrespective of what she chooses to do.
