Kwabena Agyapong Set To Replace Nyantakyi As The GFA President?

Ghpage.com is picking up reports that suspended General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong is likely to be appointed as the replacement for embattled former GFA President Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Kwesi Nyantakyi resigned as the president of Ghana Football Association after investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas released a video of Nyantakyi taking bribing to influence decisions at the FA.

He was also captured planning to bribe the president of Ghana and other high personalities to secure contracts for his potential “Investors”.

Before he resigned, FIFA has handed him a 90 days ban whiles they investigate his conduct in the Anas video. The government of Ghana has also revealed they are taking steps to dissolve the current GFA to rebuild it with new structures and leaders.

According to reports gathered by Ghpage.com, the government is considering giving the top job at the GFA to Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.

Prior to that, there were rumors veteran sports presenter and president of Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah was being considered for the job but he rejected the offer.

In an interview with Accra-based Ezzy FM, Kwabena Yeboah revealed he has heard those conversations and he has received calls in that direction but he was not interested in the job.

He explained that he does not need to be president of the Football Association before he can contribute to the betterment of sports activities in Ghana.
