7 Days after being granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court, Nana Appiah Mensah is still rotting in jails. He is unable to satisfy the conditions for his bail, according to the reports gathered by Ghpage.com
On 26th July 2019, Nana Appiah Mensah was granted a bail of GH¢1 Billion. He was to present 5 sureties as a condition for his bail and 3 of them must be justified.
And after his bail conditions are satisfied, NAM1 is also to present himself to the police on every Wednesday. But as at now, Nana Appiah Mensah has not been able to satisfy the bail conditions so he is still locked up.
But sources have revealed Nana Appiah Mensah, the embattled CEO of Menzgold’s lawyers led by Kwame Akuffo are set to file for a review of the bail conditions.
It could be recalled that, on the day of his bail, Lawyer Kwame Akufo pleaded with the court to reduce the monetary condition of Nana Appiah Mensah because all his assets have been seized by the state. But his request was denied.
However, aggrieved Menzgold customers who want NAM1 freed so that he can begin to pay customers their money which he has promised to do so on countless occasions are also beseeching the court to reduce the bail conditions.
The group’s leader, Frederick Forson who spoke with the media called on the court to review the bail conditions so that he can be set free. He said:
“It appears the conditions attached to the bail is just too high and that is why as at now, NAM1 is still not out. He’s not been able to fulfill the conditions attached to the bail granted by the court. We believe that if the court or the police can do something about this, they should. That is what we are calling for.”
