Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital doctors attending to 23-year-old Kate Aidoo have revealed the young lady might not be able to see again considering the impact of the acid which was poured directly on her face by two thieves.

On Monday, 25th March 2019 two boys stormed the shop of Kate Aidoo, a mobile money vendor at Gomoa Fetteh in the Gomoa East District of the Central region and demanded all the money she had on her.

For fear of being attacked, she handed the money to the thieves without any resistance but that was not enough for the two boys.

Before fleeing the shop, the two boys poured acid on the face and breast Kate Aidoo probably to prevent her from identifying them later.

The Thieves who poured acid on Kate Aidoo

The screams from Kate Aidoo when the acid touched her body attracted people to the scene who gave the two thieves a hot chase. They were apprehended and handed over to the police.

Kate Aidoo was first rushed to the Village of Hope Clinic but was only administered first aid and given a referral letter to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
