Real Madrid on Sunday celebrated their 13th European Cup at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The heroes of Kiev were greeted in the Spanish capital throughout Sunday afternoon before a carnival atmosphere descended on the club’s iconic stadium which was packed to the rafters with supporters.
Fans chanted for the stars of both teams and Gareth Bale was given the welcome befitting of a 90s boy-band member as he entered the pitch, although by far the loudest chant of the night was one which was shared by both fans and players alike; ‘Cristiano, stay.’
Players were brought onto the pitch in the order of their squad number from highest to lowest, although there were exceptions with the club’s captains reserved until last.
Once everyone was on the stage the true chanting could begin. Players got involved with the Queen classic ‘We are the Champions’ whilst there was also a fireworks display before Ramos addressed the crowd.
