Residents invoke 77 deities on regional police commander and crime officer

Some residents of Ebubonku popularly known as Bonkus a suburb in Cape Coast in the Central Region have invoked the wrath of 77 of its deities on the Regional Police commander DCOP Paul Manly Awini and the crime officer Supt Asi Asiwoko of the area for what they termed unfair treatment towards them.

The residents also invoked same curses on Nana Kwedwuwa Mansa who, according to the angry residents hired excavators and land guards to destroy their palm plantation and cassava farms claiming he the chief (Nana Kwedwuwa Mansa) is the rightful owner of the lands which the crops were planted.

The residents who were clad in red and chanting war songs, conducted journalists round the destruction site and revealed that said Nana Mansa was only a “Makowa Brafo to wit humble servant when he migrated from Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region and has now grown wings to connive with the Policemen and land guards to claim ownership of the land.

The aggrieved residents said some weeks ago, they went to their farms and to their shock their cassava farm, palm nuts, Acacia plantation among others have been destroyed while land guards had been stationed on the land to chase away anyone who tried cultivating on it again.

The irate residents went on and revealed that an elderly woman, Esi Gyafo died out of shock as a result of the destruction of her farm.

A victim Efua Sasa told journalists available that her 35-year-old late brother Samuel Ankon was killed in a nearby bush suspecting land guards who have been deployed to the area.

According to them, the land guards have been chasing and attacking them with cutlasses and guns anytime they visit the site.

They disclosed that an official petition has been forwarded to both Regional Police Commander and Crime officer but all to no avail but they are rather bent on arresting and prosecuting the innocent persons.

“We will plead with the government, the land guards are disturbing and killing our people. They should help us because we are not safe” they lamented.

“We are appealing to the Inspector General of Police(IGP) and President Nana Addo to intervene in this conflict issue in Ebubonko to save the lives of innocent people”

All attempt to get a response from the Regional Police Commander and Crime officer have not been successful but the Chief of Ebubonko, Nana Kweku Ampah III who added his voice called for peace calm in the area.
