Second Veep of Burkina Faso parliament dies over coronavirus

A piece of sad news that has reached us asserts that the second vice president of the Burkinabè Parliament, Marie Rose Compaoré, has died after suffering from the novel coronavirus, the National Assembly announced on Wednesday.

The Sahel state of Burkina Faso on Wednesday announced its first death from coronavirus, which is also the first known fatality in sub-Saharan Africa.

On Saturday 14th March 2020, Burkina Faso ordered the closure of all schools and a ban on all public and private gatherings until the end of April.

From several pieces of gathering on the fast-spreading coronavirus of Wednesday, 18th March 2020 at a total of 576 covid-19 cases confirmed all over the African continent.

Of these, 15 cases have been fatal: six in Egypt, five in Algeria, two in Morocco, one in Sudan and one in Burkina Faso by reports.

Experts have sounded loud warnings about the vulnerability of sub-Saharan countries to the highly contagious respiratory virus, covid-19.
