“She will grow up and say she owes her father nothing” – Social media reacts to viral photo of father carrying daughter to school

Social media has been reacting to a viral photo of a concerned father carrying his daughter to school.

This photo emerged as a result of the sit-down strike by commercial bus drivers (trotro) which got many passengers stranded today.

Apparently, these trotro drivers had been appealed to the government to reduce the levies in order to make it possible for them to stay in business. Since initial meetings did not make headway, they decided to go on a strike, and the innocent passengers bore the brunt of their actions.

That was how come a father in his frantic bid to get his daughter to school had to carry her gingerly as he braved the inconvenience caused by the strike.

Many have reacted to the photo with pessimism and optimism. While many think her daughter will grow up and not understand the sacrifice her father made in her life, others also intimated that the photo will mean a lot to the girl when she finally grows up.

Meanwhile, those appalled by the photo laid the blame at the doorsteps of President Akufo-Addo who they think had failed to address the concerns of the drivers which could have prevented the predicament where citizens had to walk long stretches.

How many men except those at the higher income levels devote this kind of attention to their kids and want them to enjoy the affection they didn’t get? Many even leave tgeir children to the exclusive responsibility of mothers
