Ever since CNN news on how migrants are being sold into slavery in Libya went viral on social media, Africans have expressed not only shocked with how Libyans are treating fellow Africans but how disgusting it is to sell another human being for as low as $400 dollars in Libya.
The latest Ghanaian to add his voice to the calls for this modern day slavery to stop is the self-acclaimed Dancehall King of Africa, Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale.
The controversial musician took to his Instagram page to express his disgust with how Libyans are treating fellow Africans on the same continent they all belong to.
According to Shatta Wale, the inhuman treatment being meted out by people in Libya are disgracing Africa to the outside world and should be stopped at all cost.
Sharing a photo of young men believed to be victims of the ongoing atrocities in Libya, Shatta Wale wrote:
“The Black Skin is never a symbol of shame but rather a Glorious symbol of strength….Africans sold by Africans ….Libya, stop Disgracing US”.
Barely 24 hours after the photo was shared on the photo-laden social media platform, it has garnered a lot of reactions and comments.
More people on social media are calling on the African Union leaders to step in and resolve this problem before it escalates.
