Ghanaian songstress Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known as Mzbel has made a shocking revelation about herself.

According to the singer, at a point in time in her life, she slept in a room where dead bodies were dressed before their final internment.

The “Slowly” hitmaker explained that after she was sacked from the boarding house in Senior High School for inviting male friends to the female dormitory, she was compelled to rent a room around so she could go to school from.

In her quest to rent a room eventually led her to an old woman who gave her a room for free.

She stated that she couldn’t believe the woman’s magnanimity but moved in any way with a friend who was equally ejected.

Mzbel added that after some days they could not sleep in the room but they couldn’t place a finger on what was preventing them from sleeping, and for three years, they continued to live there.

“Helen and I never knew it was a funeral home and our room was the final place for dead bodies. The landlady never told us. We always felt like there was something in the room and we only got to find out in the last days of our school. Even the bodies were kept on the mattress she gave us,” she said.

Mzbel shot to fame after she released her single titled “16 Years”.

Over time, she has been criticized for her choice of clothes which have been described as “sexy” or “skimpy.”

Mzbel believes however that as an artiste you must look unique.

She has always had the ambition to be a source of inspiration to the underprivileged and to be able to help them.
