Former President John Dramani Mahama has issued a response to Dr Bawumia’s comment regarding his stance on the free SHS policy.

It can be recalled that Dr. Bawumia said that John Mahama wasn’t in support if the free SHS policy initiated by the NPP government although he; John Mahama,  had enjoyed a similar policy under the Nkrumah era.

In a press conference his spokesperson Joyce Bawah Mogtari, responded on behalf of the former president, she read;

’’ Mahama has never been against free SHS and nowhere has he ever said free SHS is a bad policy,”

She further added that;

Mr Mahama, just like all well-meaning Ghanaians, believes free SHS must be made better instead of the ad-hoc implementation we are witnessing under the Akufo-Addo administration.”

In the response, Mahama advised Dr Bawumia to “remain civil, circumspect, sensitive and utter words befitting of his position as Vice President.”

The statement dated 23rd April 2019 was signed by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, who is the Aide of Former President John Dramani Mahama.
