Ghpage.com yesterday reported on former Blackstar midfielder Derek Boateng suing his former teammate John Paintsil for owing him an amount of $20,000 he borrowed from him during their world cup campaign in South Africa 2010.
In the suit, Derek is suing John Paintsil for his money as well as interest at commercial bank rate from the date the defendant collected the money till the date of final payment and also his legal fees.
Well, John Paintsil has reacted to the news stating that he does not owe Derek Boateng anything, not even a penny.
John Paintsil who is now the assistant coach for Kaizer Chiefs in an interview with Kasapa FM had this to say:
“I have received the summons from court over the said issue and I have discussed the matter with my lawyer to take the necessary legal actions.
“All I can say is that I don’t owe Derek.
“I don’t owe him a penny, but since the matter is now in court I will talk less about it and leave it to the judiciary to decide whether I owe him or not,”
