German-born Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng who currently plays for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has revealed that he doesnโt like his first name and that it was given by mistake.

He disclosed that he dislikes his first name because of an error on his birth certificate which stopped him from being called Kelvin-Prince.

The player said in an interview with local station HIT Radio FFH that โI donโt like my first name,โ while explaining why he had only โPrinceโ on his shirt.
โI should have been called Kelvin that would have been a top name: Kelvin-Prince.โ
โThat was a mistake on the birth certificate – no one knows that.
โI wouldnโt have had to play football then, because that name alone is already stellar, and then they wrote it wrong in the hospital.
โThatโs why I am called Kevin and it stayed that way.
โMy mum had surgery right after the birth and couldnโt intervene.โ
Kevin-Prince Boateng has made 15 appearances for the Ghana Black Stars and has scored 2 goals for the senior national team.
