Obibini has expressed displeasure at his absence from 2018 VGMAs Best Rapper Category as a total cheat.
The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) nominations were announced on March 3, 2018, and as usual, it has been characterized by lots of controversies with many artists expressing their disappointment in the board and academy for not nominating them because they had worked very hard in the year under review.
While music enthusiasts are arguing that some artists don’t deserve to be nominated for a particular category. Some artists also feel they have been robbed and deserved to be nominated.

One of such acts who feels he should have been nominated for a particular category is Zylofon Music signee Obibini who released a smashing hardcore record last year dubbed, “The Statement”.
The raper in a recent interview has posited that for such a mind-boggling record to be excluded from VGMAs Best Rapper Category is unfortunate.

“It’s a shame that Obibini’s Statement is not included in the category. Whoever sat down and brought out the list without Obibini should be ashamed of himself,” he said.
He, however, accepted the fact that though he didn’t get a slot in this year’s best rapper category, he believes the artists who have been nominated are equally good and talented.
On Wednesday, 28th June 2017, Zylofon Media announced the signing of Obibini on a four-year deal.
