CCTV footage of when the Canadian girls were being kidnapped released

Finally, the CCTV footage of when the Canadian girls, Bailey Jordan Chitty, 20 and Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley, 19 were kidnapped has been released.

In the video, the Canadian ladies were dropped off by an Uber car. But closely following them was a red Toyota Corolla S with the registration number AS 6149-19.

Unknown to them, the kidnappers were in the Toyota Corolla S and they had been following them for some time. They were just waiting for the right time to commit the crime

As soon as the girls stepped out of the Uber and attempted to enter their hotel where they were lodging, the kidnappers giving warning shots forced the girls into the Toyota Corolla S and sped off.

The incident occurred around 8:00 PM on Tuesday, 4th June 2019 at Silver Spring in Kumasi, the Regional Capital of Ashanti Region.

It is believed the CCTV footage is what aided the police in arresting the criminals who kidnapped the girls.

Bailey Jordan Chitty and Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley were in Ghana on International Volunteer activities and they were kidnapped in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region after they stepped out of their hotel room where they were lodging as they perform their activities on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Following the successful rescue of the two ladies at a house at Akyease in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti region on Wednesday 12th June, the joint security forces have arrested 8 of the kidnappers.

Out of the 8, three of the kidnappers are Nigerians. The remaining are Ghanaians. One of the Ghanaians is a notorious Kotoko fan who has currently been banned from Kotoko training grounds.
